Personal data
This page describes the processing of the data collected through the site’s signature and contribution forms.
Data controller
The publisher of the site, named in the legal notice.
Data collected
For a signature: the capacity in which you sign, your profile (lawyer, citizen, other), your surname and first name, your email address and, if you provide them, your position, your organisation, your bar or town, your logo, your view and your wish to be informed of the stages of the consultation. The email address is required for the signature: without it, the signature cannot be verified.
When you arrive through the link of an invitation, the short campaign code of that link is recorded with your signature, without any cookie, to measure in numbers only which invitations bring in signatories.
For a contribution: its text, the capacity in which you speak, its category and, if you provide them, your surname, first name, position, organisation and email address. When the publication of contributions is open, your publication choice is recorded with it. Each contribution receives a follow-up link that only you receive: it shows its number, its date, its capacity, its category and the stages of its progress with their reasons, without your name, your address or your text.
Your answers to the one-minute questions are linked to your signature when you answer them from the page that follows it, through a token that only you receive. An answer given anywhere else carries no personal data.
The site also records the date of each submission together with the version of the consent text you accepted. It does not keep your IP address, which the server’s technical logs retain for fourteen days. So that a support for a published contribution counts only once a day, it keeps for two days an encrypted fingerprint derived from the IP address, without the address itself.
Purposes and legal basis
Signatures are collected in order to be verified and then published among the signatories of the open letter; the profile feeds the public counter, which shows the share of each profile. The view, the contributions and the answers to the questions are used to prepare the report of the consultation, to be published on 25 May 2027, the anniversary of the date on which the GDPR became applicable. The email address is used to verify the signature, then to inform you of the stages of the consultation if you asked for it. This processing is based on your consent, given by ticking the box provided under each form.
Publication
Once verified, the list of signatories shows your name, your capacity, your position, your organisation, your bar or town and your logo if you attached one. The “I have signed” card, which you can share, then shows your name, your capacity and your organisation; before verification, it carries no name. Your email address, your view and your answers to the questions are never published. A contribution appears on this site only if its author has agreed to it, after review, with or without their name as they chose; they may ask for its removal at any time.
Recipients and hosting
Only the team responsible for the open letter and the consultation has access to the unpublished data. It is neither sold nor transferred. The site and its data are hosted in France by OVH SAS. When the sending of emails is enabled, the site writes to you once only, from propositions@souverainete-avocats.fr, to confirm your address.
Retention period
A validated signature remains online for as long as the open letter does. Its view, its profile, its invitation code, the wish to be informed and the answers to the questions linked to it follow it: they are erased with it. A rejected signature is erased thirty days after its rejection; a submission classified as automated is erased thirty days after its receipt. Contributions and their publication choice are kept until the report is published, then for one year at most: they will be erased on 25 May 2028. The fingerprint of a support is erased after two days.
Your rights
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time: your signature then leaves the list, together with its answers to the questions. To exercise these rights, write to propositions@souverainete-avocats.fr. You may also lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (French data protection authority), on the cnil.fr website.
Cookies and storage in the browser
The site sets no cookies on its visitors’ devices. Only the administration page, reserved for the team behind the open letter, uses a session cookie that is essential to its operation.
For the duration of a submission, what you type into a form is kept in your browser (session storage): if the submission fails, the form finds it again. This copy never leaves your device. It is erased as soon as the thank-you page appears, or when the tab is closed; the consent, the attached file and the technical fields are not kept in it.
